Team Offsite

Our team recently had the pleasure of connecting for a strategic offsite, where we dedicated a few days to: identify key areas of opportunity, improve our product and services for your needs, and ultimately create a better experience for you. Without giving too much away just yet, we came up with A LOT of incredible and exciting ideas. Watch this space! This newsletter will be a bit lighter on content, but we promise you that September’s newsletter will absolutely be worth the wait for what we’re cooking up.
New Features
Customer Block List (Open Beta)
Fraudulent customers can easily ruin anyone’s day, costing you hundreds, if not thousands in wrongful charges. And if they managed to get past Shopify’s fraud filter with a subscription, then permanently canceling them in Skio could feel like a game of whack-a-mole. In an effort to reduce fraudulent activity, we’ve released the Customer Block List. All you need to do is add their email to the block list, and voila, orders will no longer process from that account. In addition, the subscription will still appear as “active”, so that the fraudsters aren’t tipped off that they’re blocked.
Interested in the Customer Block List? Let us know at [email protected] and we’ll enable it for you.

Spend Limit (Open Beta)
Continuing with the fraud-prevention theme, we’ve also introduced a per-customer spending limit feature. At a customer (subscriber) level, you can set a spend limit within a desired timeframe, where if a customer surpasses it, these excess orders silently get skipped (i.e. the customer isn’t notified).
For example: If we know that a customer realistically won’t spend more than $400 on subscriptions within a month, then we could set the spending limit to $400 or $450, with a 30 day window. When fraudsters try to “get now” multiple times, and exceed this limit, the surplus orders will stop processing. Learn more about it here!
If you’d like this beta enabled, please let us know at [email protected].

Quality of Life Updates
Billing Time Synchronization
A few months ago, we released an auto-merge functionality that had dual functionality:
1) It would merge a customer's subscriptions for that order if they were both billing within X days of each other.
2) It would capture the orders for the day, and it would start processing them from the beginning of your billing window.
While this is useful, it’s understandably a bit confusing. So we’ve opted to make the 2nd functionality its own setting. Within your Billing & Orders settings, you’ll now see a toggle for “Billing Time Synchronization”, which allows you to bill your daily orders at the start of your window, without needing to offer the auto-merge.

There are less than 80 days until BFCM 😲
